Since 2009, the dedicated team of elder care advisors from the Senior Living Specialists has been assisting older adults and families in Dallas and Fort Worth as they navigate the maze of senior care options. We know the questions families often have and created this resource to help answer them.
Why should we choose Senior Living Specialists to work with our family?
Senior Living Specialists is proud to be a locally owned senior care placement service. We are the longest serving, independently owned senior care advisors in the entire DFW area. We were established in 2008 based upon our founder’s personal experience with his mother, and served our first family in 2009. Since that time, we have helped over 2,000 families find senior care in north Texas. We use our knowledge of the industry and of the local market to do all of the leg work for you.
How much does it cost for your services?
Our services are absolutely free for families! The fees our member organizations pay allow us to offer our support and guidance at no cost.
What makes you different from other companies that do this?
Other companies who offer these services in the Dallas-Fort Worth area are typically franchises or part of a national placement company based in a different state. They often operate out of a call center with little to no presence in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. By contrast, we are focused solely on north Texas. We have helped over 2,000 of your friends and neighbors find senior care they are happy with for their loved one.
What areas does the Senior Living Specialists serve?
We serve the entire Dallas and Fort Worth metroplex. This includes Plano, Frisco, McKinney, Allen, Richardson, Garland, Sachse, Mesquite, Rockwall, Rowlett, Wylie, Murphy, Parker, Prosper, Celina, Carrollton, The Colony, Irving, Lewisville, Coppell, Euless, Bedford, Hurst, Arlington, North Richland Hills, Fort Worth, Mansfield, Southlake, Keller, Grapevine, and Colleyville.
How do I get started working with a senior care advisor?
A simple phone call is all it takes! One of our experienced senior care advisors will conduct a personal assessment of your loved one’s medical, social, and financial needs. This allows us to determine what type of senior care they need and to determine a few senior living options for you to consider.
What happens next?
Based on the results of our personalized assessment, we create a list of two to three senior care options we believe best meet your needs. This list of referrals is based on our extensive experience and firsthand knowledge of the local north Texas senior care market. We will coach you on what to look for at each senior living community and what questions to ask when you visit. We can also provide assistance and referrals for Veteran’s Benefit applications, elder care attorneys, senior move managers and much more!
Will I need to call around to different senior living communities?
Absolutely not! There is no need for you to waste your time calling around to different communities only to discover they are not a good fit for your senior loved one’s needs. We have helped over 2,000 families in the Dallas-Fort Worth area find a senior care solution they are happy with. Our success is based on our experience and insight. We match an older adult’s needs, lifestyle and personality with our insider knowledge of local senior care providers. We also utilize state inspection reports and feedback from other families we work with to ensure a good fit.
How long does it take to find a senior living community and move in?
This varies with every family we help. Some have been in a state of crisis and are forced to make a decision and move forward the same day or in as little as 24 hours. We’ve also worked families who weren’t quite ready to move but wanted to create an emergency plan just in case. Most families make this move within a few months.
