Millions of older adults are living with some form dementia. The majority of these people have special needs for care. In the early stages of dementia, patients may not need much additional care as they are forgetful but can care for themselves. As the disease progresses, people may become confused about the time or their location, and decisions become difficult. Eventually, people with dementia have a harder time communicating and caring for themselves.
