An interesting piece of research out of Ohio State University studied the effects of equine therapy on Alzheimer’s care. While Alzheimer’s disease is most commonly associated with memory loss, it is often accompanied by personality changes, like irritability and withdrawal. The study found that spending time with horses could provide much needed relief to dementia sufferers, helping them both physically and mentally.
